You know your office is World Cup obsessed when:
- every third word is "futbol"
- 35+ people watch the Spain games in the conference room (lights dimmed)
- trading room TVs are set to ESPN2
- twice-daily emails update the inter-office pool standings ($20 buy-in, limit 3)
- flags abound- you name it, we've got it
- people are seen kicking soccer balls in the hallway
- sudden groans, shouts, and sighs of relief are not uncommon
- lunch hours turn verrrry flexible
- your boss sports a jersey
I love it.

I heard a story on NPR about the work atmosphere (or lack thereof) at the World Bank right now. They interviewed all these people from countries other than America, and they were all neglecting deadlines and re-scheduling meetings because of the World Cup. Then they interviewed this pissed off American woman, who was like "I don't see what the big deal is. I'm having to pick up the slack because all of these people are putting the World Cup ahead of work." I'm glad you aren't like her:) Thought you might want to know!
